The Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay Hotel is something to be seen. See golden crocodiles, water monitors, motoro stingrays, red-belly piranha, sharks, eels and the new addition the hammerhead shark.
See why sharks are the ocean's top of the food chain. The main tank holds more than 1 million gallons of water and features a 20-foot-long acrylic tunnel for surround viewing, just like you would see at Sea World. This attraction has more than 2,000 animals with 100 different species, including 13 shark species, moon jellyfish, manta rays, sea turtles and golden crocodiles. Shops and a jungle atrium are also available. - $15.95 for adults
- $9.95 for children 5-12
- free for children under 5
The Shark Reef was granted accreditation by the AZA (American Zoo and Aquarium Association) on March 27, 2003. This achievement means that Shark Reef has proven consistant excellance in all aspects of animal care, education, conservation and operations. |
